Jojoba Esters
What it is
Jojoba esters are moisturizing ingredients derived from jojoba oil. They closely resemble some of the natural lipids found on the skin and help create a soft, smooth feel without heaviness.
Why we use it
We use jojoba esters to help soften dry-feeling skin and support a smooth, comfortable finish. They also contribute to the silky texture of our skincare formulas and help them feel nourishing without being greasy.
Why it's considered safe
-
Commonly used in moisturizers and sensitive-skin formulas
-
Helps soften and condition the skin
-
Lightweight and generally well tolerated in daily skincare
Good to know
Although the name sounds technical, jojoba esters are simply a refined form of jojoba-derived lipids. They act as emollients, helping smooth rough, dry-feeling areas and improve the way a moisturizer feels on the skin.
The Lotus Standard
We chose jojoba esters because comfort is not only about how hydrated skin feels. It is also about texture. They help give our formulas a soft, elegant finish while supporting dry, treatment-affected skin.
