Our Ingredient Standards

Clarity without fear. Safety with intention.

When a woman is navigating sensitive or treatment-affected skin, ingredient decisions shouldn’t feel confusing, alarming, or burdensome.

At Lotus Beauty Co., we believe transparency should bring relief, not overwhelm. Every ingredient in our products is chosen with intention, reviewed for safety and tolerance, and evaluated as part of the complete formula—not in isolation.

This page explains how we approach ingredient safety, common beauty claims, and global standards—so you don’t have to decode the industry on your own.

What “Clean Beauty” Means — and What It Doesn’t

“Clean beauty” is a widely used term, but it is not a regulated definition. Different brands use it to mean different things, which can lead to mixed messages and unnecessary concern.

At Lotus Beauty Co., we respect the intention behind clean beauty—the desire for safer, more thoughtful products—while choosing to go further with clarity, consistency, and medical review.

Rather than relying on marketing labels alone, we focus on:
- Ingredient purpose
- Skin compatibility
- Tolerance for sensitive and medically vulnerable skin
- How ingredients work together within a formula

Common Beauty Claims, Explained

Paraben-Free
Parabens are a class of preservatives that some consumers prefer to avoid. While certain parabens are permitted at low levels by regulatory agencies, we choose alternative preservation systems that meet our safety and tolerance standards.

Talc-Free
Talc is commonly used in powder-based cosmetics. We avoid talc and instead use alternative minerals selected for comfort, performance, and suitability for sensitive or treatment-affected skin.

Fragrance-Free
Fragrance can be a common trigger for irritation or sensitivity. Our products are formulated without added fragrance to help reduce the risk of skin reactivity.

How We Evaluate Ingredient Safety

Ingredient safety is not determined by a single label or claim. It’s shaped by science, context, and how an ingredient is used.

When evaluating ingredients, we look to global best practices, including guidance from the European Union, which is widely regarded as setting some of the most rigorous cosmetic safety standards in the world.

This approach emphasizes:
- Ongoing scientific review
- Ingredient restrictions based on emerging research
- A precautionary framework that prioritizes consumer safety

The Lotus Difference

Beyond regulatory guidance, every Lotus Beauty Co. formula is reviewed with sensitive and medically vulnerable skin in mind.

Our products are shaped by:
- Review from oncology and dermatology experts
- Consideration for skin affected by chemotherapy, radiation, and hormone therapy
- Thoughtful formulation choices that prioritize comfort, tolerance, and emotional ease

A Gentle Reminder

You are not expected to research every ingredient or navigate conflicting beauty messages on your own.

We’ve done the work carefully, thoughtfully, and with compassion—so you can focus on what matters most: feeling comfortable in your skin and supported in your journey.

At Lotus Beauty Co., safety isn’t a claim. It’s a commitment.
