Why we use it
We use benzyl alcohol as part of the preservation system in certain Lotus formulas. Its job is to help protect the formula from unwanted microbial growth so the product remains safe and consistent throughout use.

Good to know
Despite its name, benzyl alcohol is not the same as the drying alcohols often associated with a tight or stripped feeling on the skin. When used in our formulas, it is included in a small, purposeful amount as part of the formula's preservation system.
